May Challenge at WW1

Hi everyone

I just loved the colour of the May Challenge at WW1

and knew I had the perfect photo for the challenge!

I decided to create a 8.5 x 11 layout and used Dina Wakley Heave Body Acrylic Paint in Blushing  - I watered it down and splattered it over my page. I have loads of old alphas in my stash so thought I would start using them  - there are never enough "E's" lol!
I used my fave stamps and stamped the background, then used watered down Blushing to fill in the stamps.  I finished the layout off with journalling about the dress around the page and added 3 buttons (as shown on the moodboard for the challenge)

May Challenge for Kraft Plus

Hi Everyone

I have been scrapping older photos lately - I joined in with kraftplus this month using an old photo of my Daughters from 2010.

I love the simplicity of this layout - the pop of pink and black and of course, the journalling telling the story from Feb 2010.  I also love that I was able to use up old alphas from my stash!

Thanks for popping by my Blogxxx

Day 8 #100DAYPROJECT

Hi again

I am really enjoying the challenge of doing a piece of art each day!

Here is my Day 8 art journal layout.

I had already created a background in my Art Journal some time ago and did not like it, so  in the words of  Lisa Oxley - when in doubt use Gesso to cover what you don't like!

I used a Jane Davenport serviette, white out pen, black pen and Dina Wakley heavy body paints.

Day 3 #100DAYPROJECT

I have been inspired by Lisa Oxley and Peg Hewitt lately  and many other creatives who have joined in the #100dayproject

Usually my art journals are extremely personal and I don't share them, but lately I have had a change of mind! I find Art Journalling so good for my soul and a good chance to try different mixed media techniques.

This Art Journal page is my Day #3.

Thanks for stopping by.

#100DAYPROJECT

DAY #2 of the #100DAY PROJECT

EMBRACE DIFFERENT

Again I have been playing in my Art Journal so I can get some mojo.

This spread just "evolved" - the magazine image was gifted to me by the uber talented  Lisa Oxley - while I was attending a retreat.

I had not used the image, but felt the time was right ! Thanks Lisa!

Until next time, stay calm, and create!

A lot of my crafy/arty friends have been joining in the 100 day art project - so I thought I would join in to get my mojo happening again!

This is my Day #1 -  of #100DAYPROJECT Art Journal Pages

I dedicate these pages to Dolly - the 14year old Australian girl who took her own life recently due to online bullying.

I used Dolly's favourite colour - blue, Stencils from Jo Kinder - Kinder Kreations, Dina Wakley paints, from Scrapping Clearly,  White Out Pen, Stamps, Washi Tape.

Something Borrowed - is the Seahorse which I borrowed from a broken necklace.

Something Blue is my blue painted background, and blue thread.

Products I used: White Out Pen, Dina Wakley Heavy Body Paint in :  Lapis, Turqoise, Ocean, Kraft cardstock, Pilot Permaball Marker Black - Medium, Tim Holtz inks, thread.

Thank you for stopping by!

MARCH KRAFTPLUS CHALLENGE - FUSSY CUTTING!!!

Hi everyone

When I saw Kraftplus challenge this month I thought "fussy cutting" ewwww not for me - but I stepped out of my comfort zone of paint and mixed media and actually did it!!

OK the March challenge is this sketch plus fussy cutting!

I followed the sketch - except I put my title on the left hand side - this is a photo of me as a 1 year old. I created this for my "Book of Me " Album.

I cannot promise that I will be undertaking fussy cutting again any time soon, or use so much patterned paper - but never say never - loved this challenge !

Until next time

Stay calm and create!

Happy New Year - Kraft Challenge

Hi everyone
Happy 2018 - I have been slack keeping up my blogging - so I have made some promises to myself this year, to spend more time creating as this soothes my soul and makes me a happier Mama and Wife!  Also to update my Blog with my creations in 2018 and be consistent.

To start the New Year creations off I decided to play along with Kraft Plus Challenge

This is the moodboard for January:

I was inspired by the colour in the moodboard, so I have created a 6x12 page.  I used Kinder Kreations 12x12 Stencil, Pilot Permaball Pen in Black, string, black cardstock, staples , Tim Holtz film strip and an Australian penny.

I have journalled around the edges of the page, which is something I intend to do more of  on my pages this year.

Thanks for stopping by.
